WILLIAMSPORT – The 2015-16 winter scholastic sports season officially opens this evening. This will be the inaugural event for new Central Mountain wrestling head coach, Biff Walizer, at the historic Tom Best-Top Hat tournament hosted by Williamsport High School. A tournament that Walizer himself participated in as a high schooler and is well aware of the importance of how competing well at this event can set the tone for the entire season.
The field is deep and talented and the Wildcats will have their hands full in their quest to defend their 2014 championship title, though CM will bring a very respectable squad to the event. Along with several new faces on the roster there is a corps of talented and proven experience that the program is eager to put to the test.
Action is slated to begin at 5 p.m. and therecord-online.com and WBPZ radio will bring you live audio coverage of all the action with John Lipez and Tom Elling sharing the play-by-play duties. We plan to go live at 4:50 p.m., though tournament starts can experience delays with seeding as late changes are made to the brackets before wrestling can begin.
