BEECH CREEK – The Pennsylvania Little League Baseball Section 3 tournament for the 9-11 division opens tonight at Blaine Kunes Memorial Park.
District 12 is the host district for the tournament and the Keystone 9-11 All-Stars are the D12 champions which allows the tournament to be hosted in Beech Creek this year. The winner of this tournament will be one of eight qualifiers for the state championship tournament in Bethlehem, PA July 28-Aug. 1.
Play will open with Selinsgrove, District 13 champion taking on District 15 champ, Tunkhannock in the 5:30 p.m. game with Keystone, District 12 champ, facing District 24 champ, Pottsville at 7:30 p.m.
The winners of tonights game will play Friday night at 7:30 p.m. while the losers will meet at 5:30 p.m.
The record-online will offer live audio stream of the Keystone game tonight and will also be broadcast on WBPZ AM 1230 with John Lipez and Tom Elling offering up the call to bring you all the action. The stream will go live approximately 10 minutes before the first pitch.
