Wildcats Travel to State College (Live Audio Stream)

cm-wrestlingSTATE COLLEGE – The Central Mountain wrestling team travels to State College for a 2 p.m. Saturday Big 7 Conference dual with the 4-9 Little Lions. The Wildcats, coming off Wednesday’s 45-20 win at Mifflin County, are 11-0 on the season and have earned the top seed for next Saturday, Feb. 4, at the District 6 AAA dual meet tournament.

State College has a handful of talented wrestlers, led by sophomore Cole Urbas, 16-0 on the year at 182 pounds. Also undefeated is senior Pete Haffner, 13-0 at 220 pounds. Junior Ian Barr checks in with an 11-5 mark at 160 pounds. The Little Lions earlier this year did record their first-ever win over Mifflin County, edging the Huskies by a 38-36 score.

Next Tuesday, Jan 31, is CM’s home showdown with Bellefonte (16-1), the Red Raiders the number two seed for the four-team dual meet tourney next Saturday. Other teams in the Feb. 4 tourney field at Tyrone are third seeded Altoona and fourth seeded Bald Eagle Area.

The record-online will offer live audio/video stream of the match and will also broadcast audio on WBPZ AM 1230 with John Lipez and Tom Elling offering up the call to bring you all the action. The stream will go live approximately 15 minutes before the match begins. The start time may be delayed depending upon any preceding junior high and/or preliminary matches.
