ALTOONA – The Central Mountain wrestling team will be taking one of its biggest delegations yet to the PIAA AAA Northwestern Regional tournament starting tonight in the field house at Altoona Area High School. Twelve Wildcat wrestlers advanced from last week’s District 6 tournament, tying the best showing in recent years, the same as the 12 advancing in 2015.
They are Gino Serafini (106), Derek Keen (113), Taylor Weaver (126), Zach Miller (138), Lane Porter (145), Damien Galentine (152), Kaden Falls (160), Caleb Porter (170), Paul Risley (182), Nik Miller (195), Gage Sutliff (220) and Cyrus McCarl (285).
Wrestlers from all over central and northwestern Pennsylvania will be competing to finish in the top four in their respective weight classes in order to qualify for the PIAA championships beginning Thursday, March 5 in Hershey.
The record-online will offer live audio stream of the match with John Lipez and Tom Elling offering up the call to bring you all the action. The stream will go live approximately 15 minutes before each session begins.
