BALD EAGLE TOWNSHIP – It’s time for round two this season of a very competitive District 6 AAA wrestling rivalry when Mifflin County (9-4) visits Central Mountain (9-1). Tonight’s contest will have a direct impact upon seeding for the upcoming District 6 AAA Duals.
These teams met by chance back on Jan. 13, 2018 when both teams made the championship finals of the Dallastown Duals when the Wildcats dispatched the Huskies 40-24 to claim the title.
Comparing common opponents this season, Mifflin County had a 46-29 win over State College but fell to Cumberland Valley, 39-30. Central mountain had wins over both of those teams, 56-12 over the Little Lions and 34-29 over CV in the semi-final round of the Dallastown Duals.
Current standings for the D6 Duals rankings has Central Mountain as the No. 2 seed right behind No. 1 seed, Bald Eagle Area while the Huskies are the No. 3 seed and Bellefonte is currently the fourth seed. Depending on the outcome of this and other remaining matches over the next week, these two teams could face each other once more very soon in the D6 tournament.
